Photography has always played an important role in my life.  My first camera, a Pentax K1000, was a gift that I received one Christmas when I was in junior high school.  That camera has documented so many parts of my life thus far:  high school proms, birthdays and holidays, college festivities, the births of my nieces, friends and family; sometimes even the events and milestones of my own children.

A little history......

I enrolled in Syracuse University after high school, initially to pursue a career in broadcast journalism.  However, after taking my first photography class, I realized that becoming a professional photographer was the direction in which I wanted my life to progress.  It's funny; I never assumed that my favorite hobby could become my future profession -- until it became my passion.

After graduation, I returned home to Rhode Island and worked with a local photography studio, alongside a photographer who was considered an innovator in the wedding photography industry.  I photographed several weddings and portraits, and spent hours in the darkroom, striving to refine my skill of black and white printing.  Those years were a great learning experience, and were the incentive to establish my own studio.

I am so grateful now for that very first camera I had been given.  Back then, I was hardly aware that this simple hobby would largely alter my life, and effectively determine my future.

I continually aim to express myself through my work, whether I'm photographing weddings or simply taking pictures of my girls.....sometimes even using that reliable old Pentax K100!
